About the Day

When we started talking about marriage we both agreed that an island wedding was for us - beautiful scenery, hot weather, and our closest friends and family with us to share in our special day.

John and I visited the Barcelo Maya in March 2006 and fell in love with it! As soon as we were engaged I said "that's it!" there were no other options for me (Melissa) haha

John and I will be arriving on March 21, 2007 as we need to be there 4 business days in advance due to Mexican law and we need time to go over everything with our wedding co-ordinator. We are assuming most of you will be arriving sometime around the 23rd or 24th so we would really like to set up a time to see you all before the wedding (we also have a little gift for everyone). So if it will work for you all we'd like to maybe do breakfast together on Sunday the 25th - we will try have a section of one of the buffet restaurants set aside for our group.

The ceremony will be on the beach around 3:00pm on Tuesday the 27th...it should not be a long ceremony, maybe 20 minutes long. After that John and I will be busy having our photographs done (should take about an hour) so you are all free to do your own thing (a cold drink at Captain Morgan's bar maybe??) until the reception starts - probably close to 5pm. We have the reception hall for around 3 hours - we will have the dinner service for probably 2 hours of that then an hour of dancing - and if you're still not ready to stop celebrating we can head on over to the disco!

Dress is fairly casual - a nice sundress or a pair of shorts and a golf shirt will do just fine!

It's an absolutely gorgeous resort, there is plenty to do, the food is great, and the drink is free flowing! I hope you can all join us and love it as much as we do!
